The Black Swan: Trailer

The Black Swan is a psychological drama in the way that the issues are represented. It is edited in similar ways as other psychological dramas for example, the music and fades are timed together to create a build up of suspence capturing the audiences attention. The voice over in this trailer tells you about the storyline but doesnt tell you what it is. The idea of a teaser trailer is to give the audience a taste of what is to come but leaves pieces of the puzzle missing. There is a lot of dialogue in this trailer which brings the characters more to life and allows the audience to connect.
The music starts off slow, quiet and harmonic. This is where the most dialogue is, but as the music starts to fasten in pace with deeper beating sounds the dialogue is still there but more apart and louder. The effect of this is creating tension and building suspence. This is what trailers are about, bringing their audience in and holding their attention untill the trailer ends. In our trailer we want people to be brought in by our music and editing. Like this trailer we want ours to start with an event and slowly grow into a story. All the techniques of editing and camera angles to create a psychological impulse have been used very well in this trailer and we hope to be able to capture sometihng similar that is suitable to our storyline.
